COSTIERA AMALFITANA

It was such a great little getaway. Making memories with each other exploring, seeing new things together is simply one of our favorite things.

Several weeks ago, we drove down to Salerno to visit some friends who work with a church down there. After spending the day with them, we drove to the nearby village of Ravello where we stayed at a hotel, Villa Giuseppina, that had a great swimming pool—which was the main reason we chose to stay there. The next day we spent the entire day playing with the kids in the water, splashing each other, and tying to teach them how to swim a bit. It was the first time we’ve really gone swimming with them since they were babies back in America. In between pretending to be sea turtles and sharks, we passed the time together lounging under the umbrellas with a gorgeous view of the village. It was fantastic!

After a full day at the pool, we went into Ravello for dinner and gelato. The night before, we ate dinner at the hotel’s restaurant which was sooo delicious. The hotel also had a wonderful breakfast each morning with cornetti, cappuccini, & fresh juice. Although, the best part about the breakfast was the view. The hotel sits up above the ravine opposite of Ravello with a nice view of the Amalfi Coast seen in between the valley. The staff was amazing and everything was super clean. We’d definitely recommend staying there.

The following day, we had to make a stop in Napoli for work before heading back to Rome, so we decided to take our friend’s advice and drive up the famous Amalfi Coast. The traffic wasn’t too bad since it was a weekday and we are so glad we took the advice! The views are incredible—absolutely gorgeous! The coast here is one of the most beautiful views of God’s creation!

We stopped in picturesque Sorrento for a laid back lunch at an adorable trattoria with a garden above the narrow street. Sorrento is full of charm and character. We loved it and wish we would have had more time to explore. Before leaving to head into Naples and then back to Rome, we took a lovely passeggiata with our gelati. The boys played in a little park at the end of the strada overlooking the beautiful Bay of Naples while Neil had a nice conversation with a man.

It was such a great little getaway. Making memories with each other exploring, seeing new things together is simply one of our favorite things.
