Back when family was visiting we had an amazing Sunday with beautiful weather and we weren’t about to pass it up! At church, Sommer loved having our niece & nephew join her in the preschool class she leads. Neil plays the guitar every week in the service as well—and for this particular week, we picked out some classic american tunes translated into Italian. After church, we took the bus to an amazing park we love—yes, you know it, Villa Pamfili. Public transportation is a wonderful thing (most of the time, that is).
We had a lovely picnic lunch, the kids ran around chasing each other, and the boys played some calcio. We walked around the park a bit watching the ducks and turtles in the ponds. Though the highlight of the day was flying our kite. There’s something magical about flying a kite and the kids always, and we mean always, enjoy it so much. As we were leaving the park, we noticed some Italian men playing bocce, a game that the four of us adults would often play together when we lived in Oklahoma. It brought back so many fun memories of hours spent eating outside and playing bocce in our yard until the sun went down. Great game, great memories—old & new!
