After not seeing Sommer’s parents for nearly a year, we were ecstatic to finally be together again! Late November, they came to visit us for several weeks. Finally, we could give big hugs that were without a Skype screen in between us. We loved showing them our apartment, our neighborhood, our market, our church, and basically our daily life here in Rome. We showed them how to eat when in Rome with plenty of pasta & gelato. They came to a birthday party of one of Oliver’s friends from school—which was a major event full of fun as are most Italian parties! Leisa even got to go along with Sommer to her language lesson. Some of our dear friends had us all over for a classic Roman full-course meal and showered our family with hospitality as they always do. Of course we took a bit of time to see the major sights in the city center which is always fun. Rome is always beautiful at night—especially with Christmas lights! But, mostly we showed them what life is like for us here. Our boys couldn’t have been happier to be with Meme & Grandaddy…and us, too!

This space is where we share our family's adventures in Rome. We love family, travel, great food, and the simple joys of life that God gives us.
