A few weeks ago, Oliver started his first day of preschool. How is that possible! As parents, it’s a big deal for your precious little one to start school no matter how old they are or where you live. But when your kid is living in a  foreign country and the only one who speaks english in his class or even at the entire school, it’s definitely a big jump.

But God has been so good and blessed Oliver with an amazing teacher who is so sweet and patient—with all of us—as we continue to learn the language! Oliver has really been amazing, too. Every morning, after we pack his snack in his zaino and head out the door to walk to school, Oliver always reminds us if we dare forget to stop in our “special spot” along the way to pray together before class begins. In just a few short weeks, he’s already coming home speaking more and more italiano. God has answered our prayers as he is already making new friends. It’s been an encouragement for us to meet other parents and teachers, becoming more grounded in our community as well. In fact, Oliver’s teacher has already asked us to help out with various small tasks at the school.

What a comfort we have knowing that our great God is in full control and has prepared this entire school year and all that goes into it for our little guy!
